Short & Long Form Video, What's the Difference?
Most wedding videographers offer only one version, long or short. While we offer both, our short version is offered only as an "extra". Some videographers only do "short-form" or "stylized" wedding videos. These are usually short (twenty minutes or so) videos consisting of short clips from just the highlights of your day, usually highly stylized with mostly music backgrounds instead of the actual sounds from your wedding day.
Many don't feel those are sufficient for remembering your special day, but we can understand it might be nice to give to bridesmaids or to show to friends who don't have an hour to spare. That's why we only offer the short form as an "extra" or option, not to take the place of the longer format of wedding video that will pretty much cover your whole wedding.
As you'll see from the sample video we'll send you (order yours here), we combine elements from both the stylistic and journalistic formats in our productions. Preparations, photo sessions and parts of the reception will be stylized (romanticized) and put to music, while your ceremony, toasts, and dancing will have careful coverage with the actual sounds from your wedding.
Although we may be shooting for hours, wedding videos are more fun to watch when they're edited down a bit. Even the long form videos only run from forty-five to ninety minutes or so (average about an hour), just depending on the size of your wedding. Those times don't usually include rehearsal dinners which we sometimes put on a DVD of their own. We never cut anything out of the wedding ceremony, (from relative's entrance to their exit) unless requested by the bride.
We've found that most brides want the long-form version, but later they wish they also had a short-form version. That's why we at OKVideoGuy.com let you have it both ways! (see Plans & Options)
