Wedding Video Coverage:

Our coverage will generally begin with exterior and interior video of both ceremony and reception locations. This helps set the scene for the opening of these video sequences.

Then we'll progress to the preparations. Jean will be with the brides and bridesmaids and Bill will be with the groom and his groomsmen. We often get wonderful casual and emotional video during this part. It really sets the stage for the ceremony, sort of like the way a movie will introduce its characters before getting into the plot. We often put a music background to the preparations, unless there is a point where the dialogue becomes important.

Your ceremony will be captured with at least three camcorders, to ensure the best views for every second of this life-changing moment. We'll be just as diligent with the sound, by placing a mic on the groom, minister, and all who speak or sing. We'll tap the soundboard with a digital recorder and mic any instruments that aren't fed into the soundboard. Your wedding audio will be crisp. Having numerous microphones means there is a second and sometimes a third source if anything goes wrong with the primary microphone.

Background music is put with the photo session (you can send us songs, or we'll choose). We not only capture the formal poses, but also the little things that may go otherwise unnoticed - a distracted flower girl, groomsmen clowning around, etc.

At the reception, we'll again tap the soundboard with a professional digital recorder (camcorder microphones do not get clear audio from sound system speakers!), we'll use a shotgun microphone for the roving camcorder and capture ambient sound with another microphone or two. To save an hour or two, some people schedule their events before the meal and have a faux exit, for the photos and video.

We always try to get greetings from friends and family members. We don't go around thrusting a microphone in people's faces. We setup a camera in a quieter location and have someone you've selected, ask selected friends and family members if they'd like to come speak on camera. We'll discuss your reception timeline with you to determine the best time to video your greetings. Sometimes the bride and groom like to record special messages to each other.

Please note that all coverage depends upon having sufficient time, having a venue that allows proper camera positioning, etc. If there are certain things you want to make sure get covered, please discuss these with us in advance. Otherwise, when there isn't time for everything, we use our best judgement when deciding priorities.
